Neurofibromatosis, Inc. (NF, Inc.) is proud to have Gillian Anderson serve as its honorary spokesperson. She has chosen NF, Inc. to direct her efforts in combating the disorder that affects her brother. For the past 6 years, the Official Gillian Anderson Website has raised over $600,000 to benefit Neurofibromatosis, Inc. through an annual on-line auction of X-Files and other Gillian Anderson-related memorabilia. Neurofibromatosis, pronounced Neuro-fi-bro-ma-toe-sis (NF for short), is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that causes tumors to form on the nerves anywhere in the body at any time. This progressive disorder affects all ethnic races and both sexes equally. NF is one of the most common genetic disorders in the United States (believed to be one in every 2,500 births), even though not many people are familiar with it. There is no known cure at this time. The Official Gillian Anderson Website is pleased to announce that it will continue its established tradition by conducting the much-anticipated 7th Annual Gillian Anderson On-Line Auction with proceeds once again benefiting NF, Inc. This year, the auction will be held in the month of June. Please stay tuned for more information regarding this year's auction, including a schedule and detailed list of rules. In the meantime, feel free to preview some of the items that will be available this year. |
