House of D in 300 theatres this weekend
Posted at 12:21 PM (PDT) on Wednesday, April 27, 2005

From David Duchovny's blog at the Official House of D website:

O Canada

am in montreal, or just outside montreal actually. began shooting "the secret" yesterday. so far so good.

house of d goes out to 300 screens this friday and you are all to thank for that. for those of you not in nyc or la who have not been able to see the movie, i'm sure you can go to the website or reach lionsgate to see what theatre the movie may be playing near you. see the "expanded markets" button on the right.

again, much of this legwork will be in your court, there won't be a ton of money spent on advertising so if you're not already interested, you may not know it's out there. such a crowded, loud, expensive market place. i have to say that i am really excited about the extremes of responses the movie has provoked in both critics and audiences. love and hate. anything better than lukewarm, ok---i figure i'm on the right track and will keep on going. can't wait to start the next one. maybe in the fall, maybe later. have to act a little more before i get too old and nobody's interested. keep the faith. keep spreading the word.

don't give up. we're expanding. get aggressive. invade other people's websites---i don't know what i'm talking about. but reach out of our little circle, we know what we love, and try to interest others who may not know or are not inclined. we may catch fire yet. talk soon. dd

Chimeral Publications has a Printable HoD Theatre List. Thanks, Cathy!

Go fill up those theatre seats!

Dear Old Friends
Posted at 6:50 AM (PDT) on Sunday, April 24, 2005

'D' is for Duchovny, and now Director

April 24, 2005
Chicago Sun-Times

The D stands for Dear Old Friends. David Duchovny got a call from one of those last weekend.

"I pick up my cell phone and it's a very familiar voice I haven't heard in over a year," says the actor, who makes his directorial debut in the film "House of D," which opens Friday.

Yes, the former Agent Fox Mulder of "The X Files" was again listening to the mellow tones of Agent Dana Scully.

She was not on the line to report an alien attack in the City of Angels.

"Gillian Anderson was in Los Angeles and she caught my movie," Duchovny says. "She wanted to call to say she really loved it and that meant so much to me because the call was out of the blue. I haven't spoken to her in over a year. We e-mail, but it was good to hear the voice of a friend."

I saw David's movie The House Of D last night and I thought it was wonderful and beautifully written and beautifully shot and I just wanted to recommend that all of you who can, go out this weekend and see it. You won't be disappointed and it will boost his attendance record for the opening weekend which is essential to keep it out there. It's really lovely.

Mighty big role for Ulster's newest star
Posted at 9:46 AM (PDT) on Friday, April 15, 2005

The Belfast Telegraph Digital
15 April 2005

Belfast teenager Tyrone McKenna made his debut on the big screen this week with Gillian Anderson of X Files fame and Robert Carlyle but, as Paul McNamee finds out, his feet are still firmly on the ground...

Despite being a total novice, Tyrone says he wasn't fazed by the rigours of film-making. It was also a first feature film for Elliot as director - and the pair helped each other along.

"I wasn't that nervous. I didn't find the lines hard to learn at all," he says. "And Pearse was there to give me advice when I needed it."

Gillian Anderson was also on hand to bring the young talent along. Since last year's shoot, she has been telling anyone who will listen that Tyrone has a big future on the silver screen. But the Belfast lad is characteristically modest in the face of such ringing endorsement.

"She was dead nice to me, helping me along when we were filming," he says simply. "I haven't seen her since, but that's a nice thing to say."
